Filling in Frogs

John Garfield has spent several days filling in frogs with Elmer’s Glue so wheels don’t drop in the Fast Track assembled switches – especially the #8’s.  5, 6, and 8’s were all done.  Unfortunately, the glue did not form a concave indention and there has been a lot of cleaning out of the frog area.  The glue did not like to be filed, no effect, so a Dremel was used along with a NMRA track gauge to get the correct clearance.

Running a 6-truck diesel thru switches along with a 2-8-2.  Pilot and trailing trucks and tender along with a few cars have found 2 switches in Gerber Yard that passed the diesel test but tender derailed.  Goal is to make thing fool-proof before starting operations.  Another day or two in Gerber Yard and should be ready to move to next town.

The final 3-way switch is half done but may redo my two that were constructed without the benefit of a Fast Track jig.
