The benchwork that connect the swing gate at the door was finished today. That completes all the benchwork except for the area to be installed above the staging yard, most likely a year from now.
The swing gate is from ELS (HOME — ELS Train Service LLC. (engineeredlayoutsystems.com) I think it was well worth the money to avoid a duck-under.
A couple of tools that have been invaluable are an impact driver and portable vacuum. Star screws are much easier to drive than phillips and well worth the slight extra cost. The impact driver makes short work of installing the screw. The vacuum has been great for removing sawdust and debris from sanding cork roadbed. Both of mine came as a set purchased from Costco.
