I was just finishing up laying track in the final town and remembered I had not shared what I do for little used trackage of branch lines.
For one method I clip out every 4th or 5th tie, remove them, and then stretch out the rest. This results in some crooked ties.
Another way was to clip between every tie, go back and remove every 3rd tie, then readjust the ties by pulling tie 1 and 3 apart. The most efficient way I found to do this was to slide the track along while sitting and keeping my hand in one place while continuing to move track. Do top rail, flip and do the unfinished (now top) rail. My index fingernail was used to remove the ties on the Micro Engineering track.
Great thing to do while listening to the news.
