After sitting overnight, I went to use the decanted paint. Only 1 of the 4 had enough pigment in it to use. The other 3 were all solvent. So not shaking the can beforehand let all the solid pigments stay in the bottom of the can.
I went back to the straw method of decanting. Instead of hot gluing the straw on, masking tape was placed on one side of the straw, the straw centered on the recessed spray tip, tape wrapped around the button, and then back around the straw. Worked great with no accidental leakage. Each can was shaken vigorously before attaching the straw.
Plastic wrap was taped around the top of a jar and a small hole poked in the middle for the flex straw.
The paint was stirred to allow propellant to escape and left partially covered outside overnight.
Equipment was gathered for painting the next day: organic chemical mask, compressor, air brush.
