Installing Fascia – Part 2

A low dust, light weight mud was used to cover screws, joints, and a few holes.  Sanding produced little dust except where joints were.  Fascia was wiped down with a rag and patches will be painted with a brush initially.  Later I go over them with a small roller for a second coat that also matches the texture of the rolled-on finish.

Tom Pearson came over and installed my programming track wiring.  The booster needs the 18-volt power supply installed.  Tom also helped remove the metal outer door that had been dragging on the concrete.  A little was ground off the door and that solved the problem.

All wiring is done in Cottonwood.  Jumpers are used to temporarily make connections.  All slide switches on the fascia throw the points toward the background when pushed that direction.  Temporary connections also let me check the live frog polarity.  The large fan keeps solder smoke away.  It is cool today so more fascia will be cut and painted for Cottonwood.  Supplies and tools needed are kept within reach on the two ladders.

The rest of the day is going to be spent running trains!!!  This will be the first text of  each complete section of the layout.
