A friend, Barry Gates, came over on January 27 to see the progress and stayed for a couple of hours. We started installing the fascia supports. The 2 holes are for Tortoise wiring. A third wire goes down the middle of the layout which is the shared negative for the 2 positives.
No work in the layout because of an ice storm that left 3″ of ice on the sidewalk leading out to the building. Worked in the house to glue on all of the Fast Track tie strips to 140 switches. After attaching with Pliobond every 4th tie or so gets heated to vulcanize the glue. I chose to go with the tie strips over individual ties to save time.
Other work accomplished included putting backing block on valance joints and finishing both connecting ends of the peninsulas: Girvan and Proberta to Red Bluff. My wonderful wife helped cut 14 sheets of hardboard in half for the backdrop dividers.
