It is hard to believe that my last post was exactly 2 months ago.  We were gone the month of December and upon returning I’ve had two severe colds.

January saw the completion of painting the main yard in Gerber.  I ran out of decanted paint and it is hard to decant in cold weather.  Heating the decanted paint up in hot water worked to get propellant out but decided to just use rattle cans for most of yard.  Yard tracks were painted oxide red primer, main tracks camouflage brown (the same as main line ties) and yard ties painted with Krylon nutmeg.

I went back over painting individual ties as described before.  I sprayed all track (except points) with a clear lacquer so if I choose to use alcohol as a wetting agent, the acrylic paint would be protected.

Barry Gates and John Garfield came over and we cleaned any remaining residue off tracks with Bright Boys.  Track had been cleaned with wood block dipped in turpentine while paint was still wet, but some places required extra cleanup, especially around switches.
