I have completed the framework for the two peninsulas and have propped them up against the wall so I can start carpeting. Before removing the paper pattern, I mark the location of key points on the floor using a construction crayon. When putting down carpet tiles, I measure each key point from existing tiles and mark the tile that will cover up the key with a Sharpie Wet Erase Chalk Medium Tip White Wet Erase Chalk Marker. Water will remove it later.
I bought the carpet tiles for the previous layout but never laid them. They are close to 20 years old and never had much adhesive (Milliken Legato), so I put down double sided adhesive tape the length of the room before installing each new row of tiles.
Once I get tiles down, I can move the sections of benchwork back in place and install the legs.
