I got a much needed break from working under the layout. We took a trip to Antonito and Durango, CO, and Chama, Taos, and Santa Fe, NM. Had a great time. Took evening and early morning photos of C&T RR and drove out 22 miles of dirt road each way to catch both trains meet for lunch at Osier.
In Durango, walked about 3 miles of track where the fire started along with riding the train. Had an opportunity to visit two 7 1/2″ gauge railroads – one with 2.5 miles of track. Awesome ride.
Enjoyed the scenery everywhere we went and took lots of high resolution photos. Photography is my other hobby. Here are a couple of photos at the bottom of the post that won best of show – the color one in the 2019 PSR convention and the B&W at the 2023 LSR convention.
My wife loves the scenery and the D&S NG RR plus shopping in Silverton, Taos and Santa Fe. Happy wife – we support each other’s hobbies and shopping.
